As a cartographic result, two thematic sheets of vegetation and land use were generated, showing the situation in 1984 and in 1993, and also a synthesis sheet representative of the temporal space dynamics of this process in the last 10 years.
It was possible to measure with accuracy the areas of the detected polygons a nd the total of each class of the vegetation and land use maps .
The identification and quantification of changes occurred in the period betwe en 1984 and 1993, was obtained through GIS manipulation and allowed the elaborat ion of a synthesis sheet and a table, which shows values in area of these changes.
