The Tejo River Basin is located approximately 9o S latitude and 72o, in the western portion of Acre State. In 1989, this area was chosen by the Republic General Attorney office to lodge the first extractive reserve in the country. The NMA research team worked on the ecological classification of the basin and sampled around 60% of the rubber tapper family present in the area. The results show a socio-economic profile of the rubber tappers and their production system. Technical data is summarized and presented in 47 tables, 5 figures and 4 maps, regarding this population and their resources, 15 plantation crops, 8 animal enclosures, extractive activity and family consumption. sistemas de produção.
